Bag Story :)

Just told my brother some of the ideas I wrote below. He really like the one where plastic bag sticks to the boy's face. And he took it further:

Shop. Man buys just a pack of chewing gum and takes a huge plastic bag to put his purchase into it. As soon as he goes out he realizes that he doesn't need this bag at all and immediately throw it on the street without any doubts and attempts to look for rubbish bin. Wind rizes, takes this bag along the street and sticks to the windglass of the moving car and block the view to the driver what causes the road accident. And again wind takes it along the street. At this time bag lands and covers the hole on the pavement man step on this asperity, falls down and breaks his nose. And again winds take this bag along the street. (from this moment a sequence of the stills images could be shown where bag causes different troubles, something like five more accidents).(close up) And finally bag finds his place on the tree then camera zooms out and shows full size tree which is completely tangled with plenty of such bags which makes a loud unpleasant noise. Signs below says -"Bags paradise" :)

Some ideas

It is always a good idea to set for yourself such a brief where you can learn something but not simply apply existng skills. Here is a short list f the things I want to learn in the near future:
  • Compositing 3D graphics to live action video.
  • Learn advanced rigging
  • Live drawing animation (framy by frame)
  • Create short animation film
  • Bhakti Yoga :)
Steve, Chris and Me spoke about final major project and though that it is another good possibility for cooperation and creating something serious. Three of us want to create short animation film which could be shown on the our showreels. Since then we start to think about ideas. Here is one I came with:

About half year ago I drew my attention on the huge amount of the plastics bags hanging on the trees all around the UK, it looked as a essential decoration of every merely big city. It stanped to my memeory and I though it could be a good idea to make a piece of work on this issue. (Interesting fact that when I told Steve about this issues he said that recently these bags came to his attention aswell :)

Some pictures I found on the net.

Few sayings came to my mind:
  • Clean is not the place which you tide up but place where you don't litter.
  • We do not inherit the Earth from our Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children. (Ancient Proverb)
Also some raw ideas:
  • Close up of the fluttering bag being held the mans hand (slow motion to shows all the details and give a romantic feeling to it). Then man releasing the bag and it taken by the wind flying (siilar to the plume in the Forest Gamp) (Camera still on the close up and some romantic music is playing (piano?)). Then camera zooms out from this single bag and shows that actualy there are thousands of such plastic rubish is flying around and hanging on the tress and finaly overshadow the sun.
  • Show the tree which has plastic bags growing on its branches instead of the green leafs. (supposition: nature is always has something to give to the humanity. It constantly adapting the human needs, if earlier people wanted to go for pickup the berries and mushrooms now the more likely to go for a shopping. And nature as a reacts on this thing accordingly by growing shopping bugs on the tress.)
  • Man is hanging a bag. Wind has rising and man with a snile releasing white plastic bag from his hands. Camera shows it being taken by the wind and then it settles and the childs face blocking his breath. Then voice behind the shot and text on the screen says : "We didnt inherit the earth from our ancesters, but borrowed it from our children."
  • Man is decorating tree with plastics bags (just like a christmas tree). After such decoration tree starts to look very ungly and dirty. Voice and text on the screen says something similar to this "Do you think it is looks nice?" video piece of the tree decorated in such way shows appeares on the screen (there is high wind and all those dozens of plastic makes awful noise). Next shot shows a man realeasing a plastic bag on the street and voice and text on the screen shows something similar to "Then stop doing it"
As soon as I reach scanner I'll upload some skectches I have done so far.

All these ideas are very raw and have to be become mature :) If you have any suggestion do not hesitate to comment. Thanks !
